Providing Your Child with Proper Oral Health and Hygiene

1. Oral Hygiene for Infants

Using a soft clean cloth, after feeding, wipe your child’s gums gently to remove bacteria and any food particles in their gums.

2. Dental Checkups

Before their first birthday or after getting their first baby tooth, schedule an appointment and familiarize them with a children’s dentistry near you. The pediatric dentist will check on your child’s gums, teeth, jaws, tongue, and neck.

3. Diet

4. Brushing

Direct them on how they should hold the floss forming a C shape at the base of their teeth to access the gap between the gum and the tooth. It should be done by gently gliding the floss up and down while rubbing up the sides of each tooth.

6. Accidents

As children grow up, they engage in all sorts of accident-prone games and activities such as climbing trees, cycling, or sports activities.
